The Concept and How it Works |
Working for Students is an on-line ‘matching service’ between high school seniors, current tertiary students and potential employers or tertiary providers.
Students provide some key data about themselves, such as industries and careers of interest, geographical area they are willing to work (or study), subjects of study, availability, timing and “a few lines to describe themselves positively”. These are provided on short forms and are collected from participating schools by WFS and loaded onto the website.
Approved employers simply log-in, type in the criteria of recruits, and the system searches for matches. WFS texts any students that match the requested profile and confirms they are still interested. If they are, their names and contact details will be passed to the employer who will establish and manage any contact. |
